The best time to visit Samana for good weather is March. On average, the warmest months are April to December.

The rainiest months are May, July, August, September and November.

The best months for swimming are January, April to December.


If you want to take the least weather risk, you should consider traveling to Samana from January to April. This recommendation coincides very well with the whale season off the coast: every year from January to the end of March hundreds of impressive humpback whales gather in the bay off Samana – an incredible spectacle.
